And now, for the flip side. After posting about hymns, I came across what may be the most egregious use of Songsmith evar (or as the blogger I borrowed from saith: I am become Mirth, Destroyer of Words.) Have you folks heard of Songsmith? Microsoft product, been called 'reverse karaoke'. You make some musical choices in the program up front, sing into a mic attached to your PC, and the software generates a background track for your singing. Ok, if you're into that. Sort of automated composing, I guess.

But by far the most entertaining use of the program is to run existing vocals through Songsmith. Which gets you things like this:

A little late, but funny all the same.

We voted this evening, later than usual.  No lines at all, we walked right in.  This morning the line was out the door, but the polling attendants said it had been pretty steady all day.

So.. following [profile] ginevra007 's link to her egg led me to the Dragon Cave forums, and thus to a Dragon Cave guild on Gaia, and thus to an avatar generator for same, which gave me this (and the whole thing only took three or four hours) but now I know a lot more about interweb subcultures...

Shiny...

And for the folks in my friends venn diagram who both game and sew, EMSL has produced a detailed plan for a d12 handbag.  I wonder if you could do this with a d20?  And would it be as cool?

And I'll say this for Pixar, they're completists.  (Not sure if it counts as a spoiler or not, click at your own risk.)

My very favorite YouTube video (warning, some bad language.) [livejournal.com profile] ginevra007 reminded me of it with her video post. Spiffworld has a lot more of Jonathan Coulton WoW related videos up on YouTube, some of which are NSFW. My other favorite J. Coulton WoW video is First of May, which is very definitely NSFW.

Surprisingly accurate for a one word test.. ;p

Those of you that know J will appreciate this.  Surprisingly accurate, for a little internet quiz!

Your Score: Thunder

~ 55% Water ~ 66% Wind ~ 51% Earth ~ 96% Fire ~

Change the street change the decade

Still the longing's left inside...

Your colours are the light blue of the sky and its exact opposite, the fiery crimson. You are likely energetic, ambitious, inquisitive and honest. However, you may sometimes appear insensitive or restless. You could try wearing a Jasper that inspires compassion and tranquillity, or a Peridot that relives irritation and inspires comfort and thus bring you a bit closer to harmony.

In detail:

Your Ground Chakra, which is associated with the element of fire and represents our basic desires and driving force, and your Throat Chakra, which is associated with the element of wind and represents our desire to learn and communicate, are predominant.

Your Creative Chakra, which is associated with the element of earth and represents our need to preserve and grow, and your Heart Chakra, which is associated with the element of water and represents our sense of love and compassion are not quite as prominent.

These are the results you will get if you score highly on...

None of the four elements: Balance Wind: Gust Fire: Blaze Water: River Earth: Valley Wind & Fire: Thunder Wind & Water: Clouds Wind & Earth: Canyon Fire & Earth: Lava Fire & Water: Tornado Water & Earth: Trees Wind, Fire & Earth: Storm Wind, Fire & Water: Stars Wind, Water & Earth: Forest Fire, Water & Earth: Avalanche All four elements: Harmony

Your Score: Gust

~ 40% Water ~ 70% Wind ~ 51% Earth ~ 55% Fire ~

I want to live where the sky is big

Simple and free...

Let's see... your personality reminds me of the...

...cool Sapphire, the non-red corundum, or its little brother, the Blue Topaz. Your colours are azure, indigo, and a bright yellow or gold.

Interpretation:

Out of the seven chakras, the Throat Chakra, which is associated with the element of wind and represents our desire to learn and communicate, seems to be predominant in you. Though this means you are probably the smartest one among your friends, it may result in feeling stressed or nervous or becoming too much of a perfectionist.

You can balance it by wearing a Rose Quartz; its soothing attributes help unwind, enable you to "love thyself", and accept limitations.

A Tarot references concerning your predominant element:

If you are a young lass or lad and still unmarried your card is the Page of Swords. Young women, especially married ones, identify with the Queen of Swords, also known as the Queen of Spades. If you are a young, unmarried man, you are the Knight of Swords, and married or 'mature' males are identified with the King of Sword, commonly known as the King of Spades. Ladies and gentlemen, here is your intelligent man you've been looking for.

These are the results you will get if you score highly on...

None of the four elements: Balance Wind: Gust Fire: Blaze Water: River Earth: Valley Wind & Fire: Thunder Wind & Water: Clouds Wind & Earth: Canyon Fire & Earth: Lava Fire & Water: Tornado Water & Earth: Trees Wind, Fire & Earth: Storm Wind, Fire & Water: Stars Wind, Water & Earth: Forest Fire, Water & Earth: Avalanche All four elements: Harmony

You Are 22% Evil

A bit of evil lurks in your heart, but you hide it well.
In some ways, you are the most dangerous kind of evil.

Here's me, wild, courtesy of Build Your Wildself from the New York Zoo.  Spotted first on Sophie Junction. I need/want hands too much to mess with that, but wouldn't it be cool to have wings and a tail?

Flaviarassen, you especially will enjoy this one. CAKE!

Your home is a

Spawn-camping Wizard's Mansion

Your kitchen is manned by a team of Keebler Drow Elves. There's a pantry with emergency backup caffeinated beverages. You also have some breakfast cereals in there, but you haven't had breakfast since last Spring. Your master bedroom is decorated to look like the treetop village of the Galadhrim. Your study has every fantasy novel ever written, including multiple editions of the Silmarillion and advance copies of Dungeons and Dragons Fifth Edition. One of your garages holds your collection of ferraris, and is measured in acreage.

Your home also includes a roost for griffons. You've never actually seen a griffon, but you keep the roost ready anyway. Your guests enjoy your home theater with hi-def plasma screen TV, and the thrones you watch it from. Outside is the moat that protects your home from goblin invaders and extended family.

And, you have a pet -- a unicorn named "Shadowhooves".

Below is a snippet of the blueprints:
